There's no stopping us!

June 21, 2018

We sure can cover some ground in a day! We did a tour of Littleton before heading off. They had a nice covered bridge, a suspension bridge, Chutter's Candy Shop and the neatest pianos all around town to play. The town has a huge Pollyanna theme. You can read more below. We loved it and the town! We would definitely recommend that you wander over there one day!

Once we left there we headed to Mt. Washington Auto Road. Wow! Now that was a beautiful drive! https://mtwashingtonautoroad.com/ If you are into adventure, that drive is for you! It was an 8 mile drive with an elevation of 6,288 ft and view after view with no guardrails! Yes, these Adventure Girls made it just fine!

We have places to go and things to see so we gassed up and headed off to Bar Harbor, Maine. We found a place to stay at the High Seas http://highseasmotel.com/property.html. It was one of the plainest places that we stayed during out trip but the owner was SUPER nice and great about giving us advice. It was also perfectly located for our next adventure, which is why we picked it, watching the sunrise. Road construction was going on and this place gave us the perfect setup to head up to Cadillac Mountain to see the 1st sunrise in the US. We took the owner's advice and went shopping in town and ate dinner. Jaci of course got the recommended "Lobstah roll". I am allergic to shellfish so all of these coastal towns make me nervous. I stayed conservative with a burger. We loved walking in all of the shops and as the owner of the hotel recommended, we saved on parking by parking at a bank after 5pm. Good tip if any of you go in the future! We caught the sunset at Cadillac Mountain and loved it! Will the sunrise be as pretty? Guess we shall have to wait until tomorrow to see...

Each of the flags was where a marker was honoring a veteran that lived in Littleton.

So pretty!

Working pianos throughout the town.

Littleton's jubilant bronze sculpture tributes hometown author,Eleanor H. Porter (1868 – 1920) best remembered as the creator of the world's most optimistic character, Pollyanna, 1913.

Thayer's Inn

It is just a bit windy at Mt Washington and we were just at the bottom...lol!

Just breathtaking!

We saw this on another car and it made us laugh. I may or may not have ran out of gas a few times in my life...haha!

Could we drive a snowplow to clear Mt. Washington? Hmmm...I think we will stick to the Suburban!

This is us for sure!

The Adventure Girls made it to the highest summit!

Chevy Suburban...since the car is new and this bumper sticker is HUGE, we decided just to commemorate the moment with a picture and to save the sticker.

...and just like that we made it to Bar Harbor, Maine!

The waterfront was so pretty. We thought about going out to see the whales but I was too afraid of getting sick on the boat.

The "lobstah roll".

Nothing stops the Adventure Girls!

A perfect ending to a perfect day!
