We biked 9 miles today at the High Bridge Trail State Park. A little more than a mile into it we were both contemplating turning back. We went in the middle of the day so it was rather hot and discovered that the trail is uphill the majority of the way to the bridge. Yikes! The little was a great sport and we walked the bike for a couple of miles and then biked the rest of the way to the bridge. We were SO happy that we didn't give up! We have visited the bridge before for an event so we had see it before but it wasn't biking it so it was a great sense of accomplishment. Adventure Girls Never Give Up! The way back was not as bad. We only seemed to have to take a break every mile and half vs every half mile. Whew! It was a great sense of accomplishment and the view was great but this Adventure Girl thinks I am going to stick to biking 17 miles at the Virginia Creeper Trail in Virginia. It is downhill the majority of the way and lots of waterfalls to break up the ride. I think that is more my speed but I am tankful for the great memories that we made today!
Fresh and so full of excitement!
So excited I finally talked the little into going on a bike ride with me.
Ready, set, go...
Adventure awaits!
I think I could have crawled in this bus and taken a rest...ok, prayed that it would drive us back to the start...haha!
The section where we decided to walk. The tandem bike seemed even more difficult to pedal uphill.
The Trail
Gorgeous views
Our bike...I will keep the nicknames we gave it to myself...haha!
A little hard to video and keep my balance on the tandem bike.
The High Bridge
We came here last year but at night for the Firefly Festival. When we looked out from the bridge it looked like a million Christmas trees lit up with white lights. It was so awesome to see all of the fireflies.
We did it!
Just a short nap and I can make it back....I'm sure!
Love Farmville!
