Discover America...on the road again!

June 20, 2018

We were told we needed to stop at this ice cream factory in Vermont and we did. They have some tasty ice cream and we enjoyed it. However, when a 12 year old realizes that a company should just make ice cream and keep politics out of it, well, that is sad. I have to say that I will not purchase more of their products but we can say that we made the stop along the way.

As we were driving along, we happened upon a covered bridge. I LOVE them. What do you know...this one just happens to be Martin's Bridge. Since the hubby's nicknname for me is Martin
(my dad's middle name), it was very fitting that we happened upon this bridge. A very pretty setting for our 1st covered bridge of the trip.

We didn't have a plan of where we were going to stay this night and we got on the handy Marriott.com site to look for a place but there were none close by. I was a little concerned because you know at the beginning of the trip....the RedRock Inn....grrrr....We saw a sign for Littleton, New Hampshire and it had a lodging symbol so we took the turn and decided to see what was there. We found the Thayer's Inn. I had never stayed in an inn before so I decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised. It was super cozy and nice. It reminded me of staying at my great grandmother's house when I was little. I would definitely recommend anyone going to Littleton, NH to stay here.

Just too liberal for me!

Cafe Dulany....we are not independently wealthy and we got tired of eating out so we started keeping lunch meat, cheeses and snacks in our cooler. It got a lot of use and saved us in a lot of places.

Thayer's Inn, Littleton, NH

Who knew so many famous people had stayed here? Pretty cool!

Very comfy!

Small but cozy and very homey!

The creaky wood floors reminded me so much of my great grandmother's.
